Recommended Best Route (Cross-Country Trip): To save time, use the open-jaw system (arriving and departing from different airports). Fly to Surabaya (SUB) or Malang (MLG) to explore Bromo first. Then, continue your road trip (you can rent a car or take the train) east to Banyuwangi to climb Ijen, and fly home from Banyuwangi (BWX).
